Halloween Night - Thursday Night, October 31st

The 2024 Annual Firemen's Operation Halloween

"Operation Halloween"

What is "Operation Halloween"?

HALLOWEEN NIGHT

The members of the Citizens Hose Company/Shortsville Fire Department want to help keep the children of Shortsville safe while they are having fun Trick-or-Treating.

In 2019, we started "Operation Halloween". Throughout the heart of the Village of Shortsville area, (from Sheldon Street to Route #21), you will find firemen, fire police, fire trucks and ambulances that will be staged at different intersections. They will be passing out candy and also helping children, and their parents, cross the streets to make sure they stay safe.

As you know that may Halloween costumes are usually dark colors. This makes it difficult for drivers to see you. Never run across the road.

Drivers. Please be very cautious on Halloween night. Make sure you check around you before you proceed to move your vehicle. Little people sometime can't be seen because the vehicle is higher than they are.

They will be at their assigned positions starting at 6pm. Please use the intersections to cross the streets. Drivers may not see you if you don't.

  PLEASE USE THE INTERSECTION CROSSWALKS!

We also suggest that you carry a flashlight with you. Always have it on. Drivers will see that faster then seeing you.

Please visit homes that only have their front porch light on.
